By accessing websitedownornot.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. The Service

WebsiteDownOrNot is a free, informational website status checker. It performs automated diagnostics — DNS lookups, connection tests and HTTP response analysis — and displays the results in plain English, together with optional community features such as outage reports, response-time graphs and "back up" email alerts.

3. Acceptable use

• You agree not to scan private, internal or non-public networks.
• You agree not to attempt to bypass security controls of checked websites or of this Service.
• You agree not to run automated scripts that exceed reasonable human usage limits, or to resell the Service without permission.
• We reserve the right to rate-limit or block IPs and traffic that abuse the Service.

4. Free API fair use

Our JSON API is free for light, non-commercial use with attribution. Results are cached for 45 seconds; integrations must respect that cache. For commercial or high-volume use, contact us first.

5. Third-party websites & trademarks

The Service checks publicly available information about third-party websites. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for those websites. All trademarks, logos and brand names referenced in check results remain the property of their respective owners.

6. "As-is" — no warranty

Results are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Network routing, anti-bot protections (such as Cloudflare or Akamai), regional DNS differences and caching can affect accuracy. The Service is not a substitute for enterprise-grade uptime monitoring.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WebsiteDownOrNot shall not be liable for any business losses, downtime, damages or decisions made in reliance on our status checks, outage board, graphs or alerts. Community reports reflect user opinions and are provided without verification.

8. Changes to the Service or terms

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, or update these terms, at any time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date.
