What is a live website status directory?

A live status directory shows the current uptime of the internet's most-visited websites in one place — social media, streaming platforms, online shops, games, banks and travel sites. Instead of searching "is [site] down?" one by one, you can scan the whole board: green means up for everyone, red means down for everyone, and amber means the site is reachable but hiding behind anti-bot protection (Cloudflare, Akamai) or has a certificate problem.

Our server re-checks every listed website every few minutes using the same three-stage diagnostic as our website down checker: DNS lookup, TCP/TLS connection and HTTP response analysis. Clicking any site opens its dedicated status page with a 24-hour response-time history, community outage reports and "back up" email alerts.

Why does a site show "Protected" instead of "Down"?

Many large websites (banks, exchanges, social networks) deliberately block automated probes with HTTP 403/429 responses. That is security, not an outage — normal visitors can usually browse the site fine. We label these Protected so you're never misled by a false "down".

Frequently asked questions

How often is this directory updated?

Our server re-scans all 100 websites every 5 minutes, and the page refreshes live in your browser every 60 seconds.

A site shows "Down" but it works for me — why?

It may be a regional outage, or the site recovered in the seconds between scans. Open its status page and click "Check again" for a fresh live test.

Can I add my website to the directory?

The directory lists the most-searched sites, but you can check any domain with our homepage checker, and webmasters can add their site to free uptime monitoring.
